• Chemical resistance: PTFE is chemically inert and resistant to most chemicals, making it a good material for sealing against almost everything except fluorines and nitric acid. This makes PTFE gaskets ideal for applications where hygiene and non-contamination are important, such as in chemical labs.
• Low coefficient of friction: PTFE has a very low coefficient of friction, giving it a slick and viscous feeling with anti-stick properties. This can be advantageous in some applications.
• Wide temperature range: PTFE gaskets can operate in temperatures ranging from -400°F to 500°F.
• Hydrophobic: PTFE is innately hydrophobic.
